Urban Ventures is a ground-up placemaking initiative that works with various neighbourhoods in Singapore. It aims to provide a more human, playful and friendly face to the streets and other public spaces.
Launched on Keong Saik Road as a non-commercial road closure project, it transformed the street into a platform for arts, culture and people to come together. Visitors were invited to experience public space design first-hand and enjoyed music performances, art installations, fitness lessons, hands-on workshops and more on the road. This encouraged people to view the road as not just for cars, but for people and to rethink how we can better use our public spaces.
